Out of town
Wow. The land of extremes. Yesterday we saw 107°, 40+ mph wind. While the sun was glaring down on us we were treated to something new to me...hot rain. Not much just enough. All this followed by a killer dust storm.
More of the same today. Gotta love it. Be sure and check out the site. We've started the library section. If I can I'll post tomorrow. Back home next tuesday. Till then stay cool. I know I won't.

Family Disaster Plan (House Fire)
Not all disasters affect large numbers of people some occur on a small scale, but bring with them devastation beyond description. A house fire is one of those disasters. They don't all make the news, nor will a house fire wreak havoc on a city, state or nation. That does not lesson its impact on those involved. Here is a step by step preparation guide specifically for house fires.

Developing a Tornado Safety Kit
Here are some tips for putting together supplies in the case of a tornado. A big difference between this and other storm preparedness is that tornadoes can strike without much warning; limiting your response time. Advance planning is crucial.
These items would be extremely useful to have in your storm shelter, or to take with you to your storm shelter, when severe weather strikes.

The site continues to grow.
SurvivalClick continues to expand. We have begun establishing a Facebook presence and I have met some very interesting and helpful people online. I am looking forward to the delivery of an item that will be the subject of my first product review. (I'll let it be surprise) SurvivalClick.com is also gearing up for an email news letter to be delivered once a month and no more than twice a month. You can sign up for that on the website. www.survivalnet.com . The sign up process is easy. I have deliberately requested only the minimum information needed for you to receive an email.

Who do you tell???
I was listening to Preparedness Pro Radio 06-11-2011 this morning. While discussing the misconceptions and truth about hoarding; Kellene Bishop talked about the caution needed when letting your neighbors know about the level of your preparedness. This brought up some interesting questions for me personally.
I’m a “low-key” guy when it comes to my survival preparedness. I believe if I am calm, methodical and “low-key” (laid back, but not lackadaisical) about preparing for disasters the mindset will carry over should the time come to utilize plans, equipment and/or supplies. Because of this none of my surrounding neighbors know anything about my plans. I have one other family unit that knows I am preparing (so are they) but we do not know completely what the other has.
Which leads me to the question…
What do you tell and to whom do you tel it? Why or why not? What are your thoughts on this topic?
